What makes a courier quote accurate
Full postcodes and addresses
Distance is one of the biggest factors in a direct courier price. Full addresses also tell us about city-centre access, islands, ports, airports, gated sites and anywhere that needs booking in advance. If you don’t yet know the unit number, give us the building and postcode and tell us what’s still to be confirmed.
Dimensions, weight and piece count
We pick the vehicle around what has to physically fit and be carried safely. Measure the longest, widest and tallest item, not the outside of the stack. No forklift on site? Say so, and we’ll look at whether a tail lift and pallet truck are needed.
The real deadline
“As soon as possible” and “before 4pm” are two different jobs. Give us the latest time the delivery still works, and mention any fixed appointment, venue slot, engineer visit, flight or legal deadline behind it.
Contacts and site access
Drivers lose time when reception has never heard of the booking or the delivery contact has gone home. Give us a mobile or direct line at both ends, plus loading-bay instructions, opening hours, booking references, security procedures and vehicle restrictions.
What's actually in the box
Describe the contents properly. Not “parts” when it’s a large engine casting, and not “samples” when there’s regulated material inside. Declare anything fragile, high-value, confidential, hazardous, temperature-sensitive or restricted, and we’ll confirm the service is right.
Contact your nearest branch
We have four physical branches. Use the local number for regional work, or the central line if you’re not sure who should pick it up.

We read the job properly
A controller or account manager checks the route, the goods, the vehicle, the service, the deadline and the access. If something important is missing we’ll ring you before pricing it, rather than assuming and finding out at collection.
We recommend an option
Where more than one service could work, we explain the difference. A dedicated same-day vehicle gives you the most control. Next-day is cheaper for a well-packed item with a flexible deadline. The recommendation follows the consequence of delay and the handling the goods need.
You get a price before you book
The quote reflects what you’ve told us: mileage, vehicle, timing and service charges, with any likely extras such as waiting, tolls or special handling spelled out. If the details change, the price may have to change with them.
The job is booked and monitored
Same-day work gets a driver allocated and sent. Network and international work gets labels, documents, cut-offs and collection arrangements confirmed. Either way we stay the operational contact through to delivery.
Urgent booking checklist
Need a driver now? Have this to hand before you ring:
Collection postcode and full address.
Delivery postcode and full address.
Contact names and direct telephone numbers.
Item description and piece count.
Dimensions and weight.
Earliest collection time.
Final delivery deadline.
Site access or loading restrictions.
Handling, value or confidentiality requirements.
Your purchase order or booking reference.
Don’t delay the call because one line is missing. Tell the controller what you know and what’s still coming, and they’ll tell you whether we can start pricing or allocating a driver while you chase the rest.
Contact and quote FAQs
No. We quote one-off work as happily as account work. The team will explain payment and booking requirements for whichever service you choose.
Yes, and for urgent same-day work it’s the fastest route. Ring the central line or your nearest branch with the checklist above.
Yes. Leave your name, number, company, a good time to call and a short description. If the delivery is urgent, don’t wait for the callback. Ring the courier line.
Straightforward UK jobs can usually be priced quickly once the postcodes, dimensions, vehicle and timing are clear. International, freight and fulfilment enquiries take a bit more checking. Complete information is what removes the back-and-forth.
We can talk through the likely service, but the vehicle and the price need reliable measurements. A photograph helps us understand the shape; it doesn’t replace the tape measure.
Ring the central line. We arrange nationwide collection and will give you an expected response based on the postcode and the vehicle required.
Contact the operations team straight away. Changing the address, timing, item or vehicle can affect availability and price. A change is only confirmed once we’ve acknowledged it.
Call 0345 8333 833. Don’t rely on email or a web form for a collection that needs someone to act tonight.
Ready to send it over?
Fill in the form for planned work, or telephone for an urgent same-day booking. We’ll explain the options and confirm the price before you commit to anything.
